A jailbreak tweak called UnlockID developed by barnlux has been released in Cydia today, the tweak allows you to unlock your Mac with the TouchID on your iPhone 5s, along with unlocking your Mac the tweak can also auto fill usernames and passwords while you are using your Mac.
How does it work?
The tweak is pretty simple and straight forward, whenever you are close to your Mac and it is locked to unlock your Mac all you do is unlock your iPhone 5s by using the TouchID, the tweak then will use the lower power Bluetooth to send a signal to you Mac that you have authenticated yourself using your iPhone 5s’s Touch ID, as soon as this signal is sent your Mac will Then unlock.
The tweak packs quite a punch! along side unlock your Mac, it can help you auto-fill usernames and passwords while you are using your Mac. For example : if you go to your Ebay account or your Facebook account using your browser and you do not wish to type your username and password, you can use UnlockID to bypass doing so. The auto-filling of username and passwords works similar to how the tweak unlocks your Mac.
