The shiny new Mac OS X Lion has now landed on our iMacs MacBooks we just installed the Mac OS X on one of our Macbooks. While playing around we figured that the Mac OS X Lion comes with Per Space Wallpapers feature built right in. This is one of the most sought out features when it comes to using Desktop/Spaces.
How To set a per Space wallpaper -:
- Go to the Desktop (Space) you want to change the wallpaper of.
- Right Click & Choose “Change Desktop Background”.
- Set the wallpaper of your choice for this Desktop (Space).
- Close the settings App (Important).
- Now jump to the next Desktop (Space).
- Right Click & Choose “Change Desktop Background”.
- Repeat the same process for all the Spaces.
Enjoy away!
How do I set one wall paper for all screens? I dont particularly like setting 6 different backgrounds.
I totally agree. A nice feature but I like the consistency of just one backgorund. you can manually set the same background by going into each space and opening the Settings app but this is a pain!

I don’t know what you are "Right Clicking on" to "Change Desktop Background". Every time I tried that from within Mission Control, it went to the desktop. I clued on on Step 4 though and moved the System Preferences app to the second desktop and then used the Desktop control panel to set the specific background. Thanks for the hint otherwise.
