As you use the Google Quick Search Box more, it will learn which results you are likely to want. The goal here is that we get you to what you’re looking for as quickly as possible. In the above example, if you chose Google Calendar, the next time you search for “cal”, Google QSB will reorder the results so that you don’t have to arrow down to your desired choice. Instead, you can just type “cal” and press enter.

The quickest way to launch the Google Quick Search Box is by pushing Control + spacebar at the same time.f you prefer another keyboard shortcut to summon the Google QSB, you can change it in the Preferences panel.

Google Quick Search Box is extensible,This means that anyone can create a plug-in that enables the QSB to search over additional data or perform more actions on results. Google has already embedded a twitter plugin so now you can tweet right from Google Quick Search.

To tweet using Google Quick Search Box, you’ll first need to associate your Twitter account with the Quick Search Box:

  1. Click the down arrow on the right-hand side of the search box.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click the Add Accounts tab.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Select ‘Twitter’ as the account type you’d like to associate with the Quick Search Box.
  6. Enter your account name and password. Your password will be stored in the standard Apple keychain.
  7. Click Setup.

Once your account is set up, you can tweet by following these steps:

  1. Open the Quick Search Box.
  2. Start by entering a space. (This allows you to create a ‘text item’ in the search box.)
  3. Enter the text you want to tweet. Don’t forget Twitter’s 140 character limit!
  4. The default result should be a ‘text’ item. Press Tab on your keyboard to see your possible actions.
  5. Select Send Twitter Status.
  6. Press Return on your keyboard.

You should soon receive a notification stating that you’ve successfully tweeted.
