Apple has poached the sales director of luxury Swiss watch maker TAG Heuer to help with the launch of its upcoming iWatch. Apple is said to be using the prestigious “Swiss Made” label to market its upcoming smartwatch, this is according the Jean-Claude Biver, the head of LVMH’s watch brands, LVMH owns Swiss watchmakers TAG Heuer, Hublot and Zenith.
Biver said the watchmaker’s sales director left as recently as last week, “to take a contract with Apple” in order to launch the iWatch.
CNBC reports that Apple, which is rumored to be releasing the much anticipated iWatch later this year, has tried to poach a number of employees from high-end Swiss watch makers without much success, according to analysts.
Apple is expected to launch the iWatch later this year, some rumors and reports predict Apple will launch the iWatch sometime around October. It is also rumored that the iWatch will pack 10 sensors and will come in sports and designer models.
