So the Phones will become full blown GPS Unit the idea seemed far from Real a few years ago but these days Thanks to advances in Smart Phone industry it is today’s reality.

Finally with the release of the iPhone 3GS  and the added compass ,iPhone now can become full blown GPS Unit. NAVIGON has already released its Turn-By-Turn Navigation App for the iPhone with 2D 3D Map View, Speed Assistant, Day and Night mode, Points of interests (POI) etc. At a whopping Price Tag of $99.99 [iTunes Link].

Now comes the big Dog “Tom Tom” – Tom Tom™ set out to do something a bit different they combined their GPS technology along with a hardware accessory Providing you with some extra features like playing your music via car speakers while the iPhone is giving directions & getting directions will also cause the battery usage not to worry the hardware accessory is also charging your device while its doing the other 2 things.

Tom Tom iPhone App & The Accessory has been long awaited by many,ever since it was demoed at the WWDC.

Finaly TomTom’s GPS navigation App has turned up in the New Zealand app store for a price of $81 to $125 USD, as reported by MacRumors today. Four versions of the app are available: U.S. & Canada, Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

    It has bee reported : That a UK seller recently began accepting pre-orders on an in-car iPhone kit for a combined price of $195 !. although the legitimacy of the offer remains unclear.
