TinyUmbrella Update Will Bypass SHSH Checks and Restore iDevice Without iTunes
Semaphore the Creator of TinyUmbrella has announced that and update to the already awesome TinyUmbrella will allow it to restore iDevices without iTunes. What this means? Semaphore says this means bypassing shsh checks will be possible for devices that can be exploited by limera1n (basically all devices available now) and the steaksauce exploit for the mc 2g ipod touch.
I’ve been working on a new and improved version of TinyUmbrella that will, among other things, allow you to restore your iDevice without iTunes. With the holiday season and work, this will take me a bit to get working the way I want it. I appreciate your patience and your support. You guys are awesome

You will always be able to install a custom firmware (or stock firmware) following these directions.
1. Enter DFU
2. Run the Exploit
3. Wait for the White Screen
4. Restore the ipsw of your choice.
Hey, are there currently any alternatives to bypass shsh checks? I can not recover shsh blobs no matter what i try. I have a found iPhone 4 that is disabled and probably reported stolen. It will not yield at any attempt to retrieve shsh blobs. HELP!
redsn0w also works like a charm. I forget my 4 digit password and couldn’t restore with itunes. Then redsn0w came as a savior. =)
