AT&T Inc. stated that it will be making its multimedia messaging service available to some iPhone users ahead of its planned Sept. 25 launch. According to Apple Insider and some other reports on many different blogs, a “variety” of iPhone users have said the new MMS feature has been turned on.
The MMS service on the iPhone 3.0 would allow a user to send pictures, video & audio recordings as well as other information such as maps. AT&T was widely criticized for not providing the service when the iPhone 3GS began shipping in June, which a lot of iPhone users were looking forward to when the 3.0 Became available.
Lets all cross our fingers and hope that AT&T delivers on their 25th Sep Promise.

i tried it after reading this earlier and its workin for me, i have hacked carrier settings though so my tethering works too =D
Yes, my MMS is working on my 3G now with tweaked carrier settings. If anyone needs to know how to do it, it only takes a few minutes and you will be up and running with MMS. this is an old tweak, but it worked fine for me.
