
Today May 26th 09 Microsoft officially announced their plans to take on the iPod Touch.! Microsoft has announced the Zune HD.that will be able to surf the Web, play high-definition movies, and tune in to digital radio.
The Zune HD, will only be available in the US starting this fall. It will be the first handheld media player to feature HD Radio & organic light-emitting diode (OLED) Touch Screen.It is based on Windows CE and will use a version of Internet Explorer customized for its touch screen & it will sport HD video output capabilities.
- HD video out - The Zune HD is capable of outputting 720p HD TV using the Zune AV dock (sold separately).
- Wireless - Connect to WiFi hotspots to surf the web and buy content for your Zune HD from Microsoft.
- HD radio - Listen to the radio when on the move.
- Xbox integration - Seriously, this is something that the original Zune should have done.
Microsoft is surely trying to take some shine away from Apple’s iPod Touch.
“This device is created to go head to head with the iPod Touch,” Chris Stephenson, general manager of global marketing for Microsoft Zune, said in a telephone interview on Tuesday. Zune buyers will also be able to play HD content on their TVs via a dock, Microsoft said.

Wow, this looks pretty cool, except Apple came out with something like this a long time ago called the iPod. Did I read this is Microsoft…… nevermind…. I'll stick with my Apple products. hehe
