1. Getting Ready.

Backup your iPod.
Make sure your iPod is on iOS 5.0.1
If you are already on iOS 5.0.1 you can skip this step.
If you are unsure – Connect your iPod with iTunes & update. Fresh install ensure no wasted space.
Note : Do not update if you need Unlock.

2. Downloads (links in the table above)

Download The iOS 5.0.1 for for iPod
Download redsn0w
Place both of these inside a folder on desktop – you can call the folder “pawnage”

Remember : You will should have the following iOS in the folder.

For iPod 3G : iPod3,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw
For iPod 4G : iPod4,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw

3. Launch redsn0w – Double Click the redsn0w icon (inside the “redsn0w_mac_0.9.10b1″ Folder)

4. After redsn0w launches – Click “jailbreak” button

5. Turn your iPod OFF & connect it via USB. – Click Next

6. DFU Mode

We now have to put your device into DFU MODE.
Review How to go into DFU Mode before clicking next .

Make sure your device is connected to the computer, & Turned OFF - Now click Next.

Redsn0w Will walk you through a few steps to get Your iDevice into DFU Mode

Step 1 .

Hold down the power Button for 3 Seconds

Step 2.

Continue to hold the Power button
Now also hold the Home button
Hold both buttons together for 10 seconds.

Step 3.

After 10 seconds of holding both buttons.
Release the Power button and continue holding the Home button until RedSn0w detects your iDevice.

7. Do Nothing….

Once your iDevice is in DFU mode - Redsn0w will begin jailbreaking your iDevice.

Just sit back – & watch Redsn0w work its magic.

8. Almost There

Select Install Cydia From the Option below.
You can choose other options if you like, but we suggest to just select “install Cydia” as you can enable other features via Cydia.
