Google today announced another step in its OS developement & has released the open-source as Chromium OS. The code is free, accessible to anyone and open for contributions. The Chromium OS project includes Google’s current code base, user interface experiments and some initial designs for ongoing development. This is the initial sketch and google will color it in over the course of the next year.

Offcourse you are asking? I want to get this Now? How ? Well it’s already compiled as a VMWare image, ready for download via torrents and gdgt.
