Jay Saurik said in twitter just a few hours ago that Cydia & WinterBoard are ready for prime time on 3.0 – According to him Cydia Works well on the 3.0 ! WinterBoard might encounter some Bugs but not to worry once it sees the light on 3.0 they will be tweaked as well. As far as Jailbreak for 3.0 goes it is still delayed due to the hacktivation & YouTube error on non-official iPhones caused due to Jailbreak, so all you(me too) Official iPhone owners wait just a little longer Jailbreak will be here soon.
what about having the iphone unlocked is jail breaking it the same as unlocking it cause Im a t-mobile customer I want the update but I need to use the phone as well
They are two different things. If you are using Yellowsn0w for the unlock to use the t-mobile sim card, you should not update to 3.0. you will lose your jailbreak and Yellowsn0w. You will not be able to use the phone function at that point. The jailbreak should be out very soon for the 3.0, I would definately wait until the Dev Team puts this out. There is not that much benefit to upgrading to 3.0, since you have most everything with your jailbreak, not to mention losing your phone calls. I think the biggest difference is with the new iPhone 3G-S with all the new tweaks and speed….
