Springback is a brand new application that can be very useful in different situations. The main purpose is to perform a backup of Springboard, or rather the position of the various icons that make it up. Now even tough it doesn’t happen much but we all have gone through a reset on the device where all the icons get reset and the icons change location & you loose your set up. This will bring your set up back with the icon locations wherever you had them before.

SpringBack is available via  Cydia.

Warning  – You should never restore a backup that contains the icons of applications now deleted from your iPhone. If this error was committed, the device will slow until it re-install those applications.

A couple of days ago, saurik removed Sleepers repository source from cydia due to some illegal software beeing hosted on the repo & for little over sight of the repo. Now in addition to doing so saurik has pushed a warning system to cydia where, when a user enters/adds a  source manually a Warning would appear if the source is known to be bad or is on a Black list. Today that warning was extended to xsellize’s repo. Repo that has distributed community developer’s work cracked and still continues to do so, we have talked about all this illegal  activity damaging jailbreak’s image here. Thumbs up to Surik for taking this step.

Sling Media showed off a version of SlingPlayer running on an iPhone just about a year ago & there is still no SlingPlayer App for the iPhone.  The Boy Genius report did say that at&t  may ask Apple to Keep SlingPlayer from taking a stroll in the AppStore, but the same folks also state that Sling Media did not hear anything back from Apple regarding the approval of their App. Now we see that SlingMedia has started to show off their Latest & greatest App for the iPhone,So its likely that SlingPlayer App for the iPhone will be available for download soon. There have been rumors that the App itself may not work with the latest SlingBox products users may have to upgrade their Slingbox to be able to use the Mobile App itself.  But all things Aside it does look like that SlingPlayer App will be here sooner of later. Sling Media has announced on their website that SlingPlayer for the iPhone will be available soon.! 

Update :

Rumor has it that SlingBox’s iPhone App has been Rejected by Apple. The reason? like we said earlier in this post”AT&T” is worried about the massive BandWidth useage that this App may cause over the 3G Network hence putting at&t in a spot where they really do not want to be.
