AOL has pushed released a new version of AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) for iPhone that features push notification of new messages. The program comes in two versions: free with ads↓, or $2.99 without ads↓. Both versions work with iPhone OS 2.0 software, but require iPhone OS 3.0 for the Push Notifications to work, “Push Notification works even when the program isn’t running”.
Carriers now may freak out and lower the cost of Text message packages as with the push notification similar results can be achieved. This may very well impact the Text (sms) charges ?
